The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) has accelerated rapidly in recent years, with many major car manufacturers investing heavily in electric mobility. EVs are becoming increasingly common in developed countries. (13) where high costs and limited infrastructure continue to create serious barriers. For this reason, some experts argue that unless several critical conditions are fulfilled, EVs (14).
Two major challenges continue to hinder the wider expansion of EVs. The first is the unstable supply of essential materials such as lithium and cobalt, (15). The second is the limited capacity of existing power grids, which are often unable to cope with the growing demand for large-scale charging. (16)
To overcome such obstacles, researchers are developing lighter batteries, faster charging systems, and cleaner energy solutions. These efforts alone, however, may not be enough without broader support. (17)

📖 Reading Comprehension Câu 18–27
Read the passage and mark A,B,C or D for questions 18 to 27.
Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental challenges of the twenty-first century. [I] Plastic is extremely versatile, durable, and inexpensive, which explains why it is widely used in packaging, clothing, electronics, and many everyday products. [II] However, these advantages have encouraged a global throwaway culture in which large amounts of plastic are discarded after a single use. [III] Researchers estimate that roughly a truckload of plastic enters the sea every minute around the world. [IV] Microplastics represent a less visible but increasingly pervasive form of plastic contamination. When larger plastic items such as bottles, bags, and food containers break down, they fragment into extremely small particles known as microplastics. Synthetic clothing can also release microscopic fibres during washing, while certain cosmetics once contained tiny plastic beads. Because these particles are so small, wastewater treatment systems often fail to remove them effectively. As a result, microplastics travel through rivers and seas and have been detected in remote locations from ocean trenches to polar regions. Plastic pollution seriously harms wildlife and ecosystems. Large plastic objects can entangle marine animals such as turtles, dolphins, and seabirds, often causing injury or death. Many species also mistake floating plastic for food, which can block their digestive systems. Microplastics create additional dangers because they are easily swallowed by organisms ranging from tiny zooplankton to enormous whales. Scientists warn that these particles can absorb toxic chemicals and transport them through the food chain, potentially exacerbating environmental damage and threatening long term ecological stability for future generations worldwide. Reducing plastic pollution therefore requires coordinated action from governments, industries, and consumers. Experts increasingly argue that the most effective solution is simply to produce and use far less plastic overall. Some countries have already banned certain microplastics in cosmetics and introduced policies to limit single use packaging. Meanwhile, environmental organisations have pressured major companies to redesign products and invest in sustainable materials. Although plastic remains necessary in some medical or accessibility contexts, long term progress depends on innovation, responsible consumption, and stronger international cooperation worldwide in future.

Deadly TikTok challenges are becoming a serious problem on social media today. TikTok is a popular application where users create and share short videos online. Many young people take part in different online challenges that spread very quickly across the world. These challenges often go viral and attract large numbers of viewers in many countries. However, many users do not clearly understand the possible dangers behind these online trends. The appeal of TikTok challenges comes from their easy participation and social rewards for young users. Anyone with a smartphone can join these activities easily and follow trends to become popular online. Most challenges do not require special skills which makes them appealing to teenagers and students everywhere. Young people enjoy feeling part of an online community and gaining attention from others around them.
However, these challenges can be risky because young people’s brains are still developing and cannot always think rationally. At this age they may not think carefully and often underestimate danger in online situations. The pressure from social media can lead them to copy unsafe behaviour they see online. As a result, teenagers may take part in actions that put their safety at risk.
The consequences of viral TikTok challenges have been severe and sometimes devastating. Some cases have caused injuries and deaths which worried families and communities. Many parents believe that platforms should take more responsibility for protecting young users. They say that harmful videos are still shown on recommendation systems too often. Experts suggest teaching safety in schools to help students make better choices online. This can reduce risks and help young people avoid dangerous online challenges.
